Burpee’s Butterbush Butternut Squash is a compact, bush-type butternut that is ideal for small gardens or containers. It produces high yields of classic butternut-shaped fruits with smooth tan skin and deep red-orange flesh. Vines are much shorter than standard butternuts—typically 3 feet—yet plants are vigorous and productive. This variety matures early and offers excellent sweet, nutty flavor with a small seed cavity for more usable flesh per squash. Fruits average 1.5 to 3 pounds and store well for months.
