Who we are

We started our gardening journey in Saskatchewan, and have always enjoyed harvesting and preserving food we've grown or gathered ourselves. 

Since moving to Vancouver Island in 2018, we've slowly expanded our garden and have become interested in maintaining unusual varieties of vegetables.

 

Heirloom and open-pollinated vegetables usually have more interesting flavors, but there's also value in maintaining genetic diversity for its own sake.

 

When we're keeping varieties isolated and growing enough plants to have healthy seeds, it doesn't take much to have more seed than any one person can use! Creekside Seeds was born to spread the abundance, and share the joys of delicious varieties that are selected for taste and not just ability to store long enough to reach the grocery store.
